Linda Oyama is a microbiologist and lecturer at the School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Global Food Security, Queen’s University Belfast, with a First-class Microbiology degree and a PhD in Biological Sciences.
Linda’s research interests center around understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in microbiomes from a One Health perspective through surveillance and epidemiological studies using meta-omics approaches. She aims to tackle AMR through the discovery and development of novel treatment options for various clinical and veterinary multidrug resistant (MDR) infections.

Linda Oyama is a microbiologist and lecturer at the School of Biological Sciences and Institute for Global Food Security, Queen’s University Belfast, with a First-class Microbiology degree and a PhD in Biological Sciences.
Linda’s research interests center around understanding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in microbiomes from a One Health perspective through surveillance and epidemiological studies using meta-omics approaches. She aims to tackle AMR through the discovery and development of novel treatment options for various clinical and veterinary multidrug resistant (MDR) infections.

This session will outline the eligibility criteria and provide a step-by-step guide to the application process for joining the UK Young Academy.
Charlotte Senior
UK Young Academy Membership Officer from UK Young Academy
Charlotte Senior is the Membership Officer and joined the UK Young Academy at the end of November 2023. As part of her role, she overseas member activities and development, facilitates member-led projects, and organises events for members and stakeholders, including the New Members’ Induction and Annual Members’ Meeting. She is also the project manager for the yearly call for applications.
With previous roles spanning design to clinical reporting, Charlotte has experience in membership and public engagement, organising sell-out public events, and supporting individuals at all stages of their careers to develop new skills.
Outside of work, Charlotte is a regular performer with the BBC Symphony Chorus and keen houseplant cultivator – casual hobbies which have grown exceedingly out of hand.

Oleksandra Moskalenko
Visiting Professor from London School of Economics and Political Science
Oleksandra Moskalenko is an economist specializing in macroeconomic policies, economic resilience, and post-war recovery. She is a Duisenberg Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS-KNAW) and a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Originally from Ukraine, Oleksandra has held academic positions at Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (Ukraine) and has contributed to international research on economic development, fiscal policy, and green transition. Her work explores how economies navigate crises, particularly in wartime and post-war contexts. She has received prestigious research grants and fellowships, including from the Austrian National Bank and the Ukrainian Parliament. Passionate about using economic insights for policy impact, she actively collaborates with global institutions to shape strategies for economic recovery and resilience.
Keri Ka-Yee Wong
Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology, Co-Director UCL Centre for Education and Criminal Justice from University College London
Keri Wong is Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology at UCL and co-Director of the Centre for Education and Criminal Justice. She leads The Wong Lab to understand the causes of crime, youth mental health, health inequalities, and severe mental disorders like schizophrenia. She regularly reviews for journals and is guest Editor for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Journal on a Special Issue looking at the role of the physical environment and children and young people's psychosocial outcomes (2025). She has a keen interest in translating research knowledge into policy and practice. Keri is an UKRI ESRC Policy Fellow seconded to the UK Home Office and is part of the Safer Streets Mission Advisory Group (2024-). Keri also hosts UCL's podcast Academia et al., a podcast exclusively for ECRs by ECRs, and represents UCL on the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network London Organising Committee.
