Bio
Claudia Perry is a Digital Science Associate at BP. She is motivated to use novel technologies for positive societal impact, whilst mitigating their possible unintended harms. Having graduated from the University of Warwick with a bachelor’s in mathematics and master’s in computer science, she published her thesis research, and began her career in cyber security, delivering behavioural change programmes to reduce organisational cyber risk. She then pivoted into a digital research and development team, building technical expertise in quantum computing and cyber security. She now works with these and other emerging technologies to apply them to high impact energy sector use cases.
In 2025 Claudia joined the Steering Committee for UKQuantum, where she additionally chairs the working group on Responsible Quantum Innovation. She is passionate about this initiative, and collaborates with the National Quantum Computing Centre in co-leading the Responsible Quantum Industry Forum. Throughout her career she hopes to contribute her technical expertise to societally beneficial, real-world applications.
