The UK Young Academy becomes Young Affiliate of prestigious global science network, The InterAcademy Partnership
The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) is the global network of science, engineering, and medical academies working together to provide independent expert advice on scientific, technological and health issues.
With a membership of around 150 academies representing more than 30,000 leading scientists, engineers, and health professionals across over 100 countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Oceania, and Europe, The InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) plays a vital role in advancing evidence-based solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.
Through this science network, the IAP harnesses the expertise of the world’s foremost scientific minds to promote sound policies, improve public health, advance science education, and contribute to sustainable development. It works to ensure that science serves society inclusively, equitably, and effectively on a global scale.
Earlier this year, the IAP invited young academies and early-career leadership programmes to join its science network. This initiative was designed to strengthen the connection between emerging scientific leaders and the broader scientific community, fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and impactful policy engagement.
As a newly recognised Young Affiliate, the UK Young Academy will benefit from opportunities to:
- Engage in global scientific dialogues and policy initiatives
- Connect with networks of established academies and experts across regions and disciplines
- Participate in capacity-building programmes, workshops, and collaborative projects
- Gain visibility and recognition within the international scientific community
