Together we will accelerate our contribution to the world sustainable development goals, especially for good health and well-being, innovation and energy.

Bio

Fatemeh Shahbazi is an Associate Professor of mechanical engineering at the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, where she also serves as Director of Studies for undergraduate engineering programmes. She specialises in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with research interests spanning aerodynamics, machine learning-aided numerical simulations, and the design of microfluidic biosensors for early disease detection.

Fascination with flight and math since childhood guided her to engineering and CFD. She graduated with first-class honours in her MSc and went on to establish a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education start-up that received the Best Knowledge-Based Start-Up award in 2018. Fatemeh completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2023, working on computational methods for biosensors..

Alongside her research and teaching, Fatemeh contributes to the engineering community through committee roles with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK Young Academy and Fluid Networks. She has received awards for innovation, teaching, and collegiality.
