This in-person training session will introduce members to the foundational principles of engaging with policy. The session will cover key topics, including what policy is, its relationship to societal impact, and the role of evidence in influencing decision-making.
A key focus will be the core ‘Seven Cs’ framework, providing practical tools for effective policy engagement. The session will conclude with an opportunity for members to present an ‘elevator pitch’ in small groups, focusing on a UK Young Academy activity or project.
By the end of the session, our members will have a better understanding of how they can contribute to policymaking and gain the skills to engage more effectively in public decision-making processes.
