Bio
Christine Lehnen is the author of twelve books, several essays, award-winning short fiction, one TV script and two poems. After a successful career of writing and publishing genre fiction under a variety of pseudonyms in her twenties, she is currently working on her literary debut. She lives in London. As a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Hamburg, she thinks about writing and reading as practices of imaginative intelligence. She works across disciplines to launch hands-on projects that foster attention, creativity, stories, and writing and reading, which are essential to our wellbeing, the happiness of our communities, and the resilience and success of our democracies. She is project lead on the 2027 research project “Writing the Future: Practicing Imaginative Intelligence,” funded by the Claussen Simon Trust, together with Hilke Berger. In her spare time, Christine volunteers with the Orwell Foundation and Orwell Youth Prize.
