Bio
Mengyao Lu is a Research Fellow at Childlight – Global Child Safety Institute, University of Edinburgh. Mengyao’s research focus lies primarily in the prevention of sexual violence against children, particularly primary school-based prevention programmes. As a researcher who is passionate about preventing sexual violence against children, Mengyao has spent the last five years building the evidence base for school-based child sexual abuse prevention programmes and providing the most up-to-date evidence for the magnitude of sexual violence against children globally. As a social worker by training, Mengyao is interested in having a real impact on safeguarding children.
