Together we will accelerate our contribution to the world sustainable development goals, especially for good health and well-being, innovation and energy.

Bio

Dr Fatemeh Shahbazi is an Assistant Professor of mechanical engineering at WMG, University of Warwick, where she also serves as Director of Studies for undergraduate engineering programmes. She specialises in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with research interests spanning aerodynamics, machine learning-aided numerical simulations, and the design of microfluidic biosensors for early disease detection.
Fascination with flight and math since childhood guided her to engineering and a love for CFD. She graduated with first-class honours in her MSc, developed a patented device, and went on to establish a STEM education start-up that received the Best Knowledge-Based Start-Up award in 2018. Fatemeh completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2023, advancing computational platforms for the design of biosensors.
Alongside her research and teaching, Fatemeh contributes to the engineering community through committee roles with the IMechE, UK Fluid Networks, and UK Young Academy. She has received multiple awards for innovation, teaching, and collegiality.
