Bio

Josie is passionate about how technologies can be responsibly and sustainably applied to tackle challenges like climate change, AMR, and food security, and is undertaking an MPhil in the risks and opportunities presented by emerging biotechnologies.

Josie is a fully qualified patent attorney and for six years she worked with biotechnology and life sciences inventors and companies, helping them obtain (or knock out) patents for inventions in fields like immunology, crop science and genetics. She has an academic background in molecular and cellular biochemistry, lab experience in molecular genetics and structural microbiology, and study and work experience in pandemic policy.
