Bio
Oliver Rieche is Director of Legal Affairs and NDC Partnerships at Balance Eco, a UK climate finance venture working at the intersection of law, climate governance, and environmental markets. With his team, he has helped develop a new category of ecological assets that integrate biodiversity restoration, equitable revenue-sharing for local communities, and climate mitigation. He engages governments to embed these approaches into national climate strategies.
Oliver has contributed to climate policy discussions at COP27–30, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meetings in Bonn, and New York Climate Week, and previously worked at a leading law firm in London and at the European External Action Service in Brussels, with a focus on environmental law and transatlantic governance.
Alongside his professional work, Oliver is active in youth leadership and cross-cultural collaboration on climate justice through selected global networks. He holds law degrees from the University of Cambridge, BPP London, and the University of Manchester.
