Bio

Rhys is a paediatric doctor within London and an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at UCL. He currently works within The Ryten Lab where his research focuses on using computational approaches to analyse genetic data to help diagnose and understand rare diseases. He previously completed his medical studies at the University of Oxford, his MSc Paediatrics and Child Health at UCL, and the Academic Foundation Programme within Brighton.

He is a trustee for The McPin Foundation – a national charity which works to champion the role of lived experience in mental health research. He is also the lead for Patient and Public Involvement at REACH Network London – a paediatric trainee-led research and audit organisation.

He has previously been awarded the University of Oxford’s Vice Chancellor’s Social Impact Award for his work towards positive change and continues to take a keen interest in equitable access to both healthcare and education.
