Bio

Tin Tin Naing holds a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford. She is a geologist, and is passionate about understanding the Earth’s natural resources. She received her BSc and MSc from the University of Yangon, Myanmar, and a PhD from the University of Oxford, UK, in 2020. She has also worked as a research fellow at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zürich.

Tin Tin’s research focuses on Southeast Asia’s mineral deposits, particularly tin, tungsten, and rare earth elements. These minerals are essential for modern technology, including electronics, renewable energy, and medical equipment. By studying the geological processes that formed these resources, she aims to enhance our understanding of the region’s mineral potential. Tin Tin’s work also provides valuable insights for responsible mining and resource management, helping to promote more sustainable and efficient exploration practices. Through this research, she contributes to the advancement of resource sustainability and economic development.
