Bio
David is undertaking research in the development and evaluation of behaviour change interventions that aim to improve health outcomes in adults with long-term (or chronic) conditions and disabilities. He is particularly interested in evaluating the impact of mobile-enabled healthcare (or mHealth), such as smartphone apps, on physical and psychological wellbeing, as well as quality of life, with a focus on older adults. His work aims to bridge the gap between digital health innovations and real-world applications, ensuring accessible and effective interventions, specifically for underserved communities.
In addition to his main role as a Senior Lecturer, David is the Director of Undergraduate Studies within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, and Warden of Butler Court Hall of Residence at Loughborough University. He also the Research Lead for the British Psychological Society’s Division of Health Psychology, and Co-Chair of the UK Society of Behavioural Medicine’s Older Adult Special Interest Group.
