I hope to amplify underrepresented voices, challenge assumptions, and ensure research is informed by the people it seeks to serve.
Bio
Molly is a Senior Research Officer in Equality Analysis for the Scottish Government, dedicated to strengthening the equality evidence base to drive more inclusive policy decisions and improve lives across Scotland. She works with colleagues across a range of analytical professions and policy areas to improve how equality evidence is gathered, analysed, and used. Passionate about collaboration and exchange of knowledge, she co-founded the Scottish Government’s first Analytical Community of Practice for Equality Variables.
Prior to this position, Molly obtained an MSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh where she explored how gender shapes experiences of chronic pain in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She now volunteers with a Patient Public Involvement group for IBD, consisting of clinical researchers and people with IBD, including herself. This has resulted in impactful projects, including the short film Our Lives with IBD and a patient-led paper exploring priorities for IBD wellbeing research.
