Bio
Imrose Muhit is an Assistant Professor in Civil and Structural Engineering in the Department of Engineering at Durham University. His research addresses the urgent challenges of creating a more sustainable, resilient, and resource-efficient built environment. Through interdisciplinary research spanning civil engineering, materials science, and digital technologies, he works closely with academia, industry, and policymakers to develop innovative solutions that accelerate the transition to net-zero infrastructure.
He obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2021 and subsequently held research positions at the University of Newcastle and the University of Leeds. Before joining Durham University, he was a Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer at Teesside University, where he led and contributed to multiple externally funded research projects. Dr Muhit is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Senior Member of the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM).
