Bio

Tin Naing is a geologist and passionate about understanding the Earth’s natural resources. Tin received my BSc and MSc from the University of Yangon, Myanmar, and a PhD from the University of Oxford, UK, in 2020. Tin worked as a research fellow at ETH Zurich and currently holds a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford.

Tin’s research focuses on Southeast Asia’s mineral deposits, particularly tin, tungsten, and rare earth elements. These minerals are essential for modern technology, including electronics, renewable energy, and medical equipments. By studying the geological processes that formed these resources, Tin aims to enhance our understanding of the region’s mineral potential. Tin’s work also provides valuable insights for responsible mining and resource management, helping to promote more sustainable and efficient exploration practices. Through this research, Tin contributes to the advancement of resource sustainability and economic development.
