Bio
Annie Williamson is a doctor and health economist combining clinical medicine, research, and policy to advance health equity. She is currently service evaluation co-lead at the Queen Mary and Barts Health Tuberculosis Centre, leading an interdisciplinary team to evaluate TB care innovations, while also practicing as a doctor at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
Her research includes leading Cochrane Reviews informing global practice and economic analyses of national malaria and HIV care. As a Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research, her debut report ‘Waiting for Prosperity’ achieved front-page coverage and directly informed government health policy. Before this, she was a health economist at Partners in Health Mexico, leading research and staff training to improve healthcare access. She holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (First) and an MPhil Economics (Distinction) from Oxford, and an MBBS from Barts and the London, for which she received the Frederick Treves Prize.
