Bio

With over two decades of experience in immunobiology, Dr. Kevin Woollard has made significant contributions to the understanding of inflammatory diseases and their comorbidities. Kevin’s PhD focused on macrophage activity in inflammation and completed several postdoctoral fellowships at Roche, Baker Institute (Melbourne) and Kings College London. In 2012 he started his own research group at Imperial College London and solidified his reputation as a leading researcher and educator in immunology and nephrology, culminating in his current role at AstraZeneca. As a Senior Director, he leads efforts in early Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic (CVRM) drug discovery in Cambridge, leveraging novel technologies and data innovations. He has over 70 publications and record of grant funding from MRC, BHF and others. Kevin’s dedication to delivering new CVRM therapies is matched by his commitment to mentoring the next generation of scientists and clinicians, evidenced by his substantial teaching and supervisory roles.
