“Sifeng Bi is a scientist, engineer, and educator specializing in the fields of Uncertainty Analysis and Numerical Modelling, with a focused dedication to advancing Sustainable Space Exploration. As a faculty member within the UK’s higher education sector, Sifeng leads research initiatives aimed at enhancing the precision, efficiency, and reliability of spacecraft lifecycle design and management. His work encompasses the development of highly reliable numerical modelling for the next-generation aircraft structure design, rapid and robust predictions of space debris re-entry on Earth, and precise, long-term forecasting of spacecraft orbital and attitude state propagation.
Sifeng is an enthusiastic teacher, who enjoys the experience of guiding engineering students from the basics of aerodynamics to the design, construction, and piloting of their own model airplanes. For more academic activities, Sifeng sits on the AIAA Technical Committee of Non-Deterministic Approaches. He is the Associate Editor of the ASCE-ASME Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, and Guest Editor of the international journal Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing. He is a Senior Member of AIAA.
