UK Young Academy welcomes four new Executive Group representatives

The UK Young Academy welcomes four new Executive Group representatives, bringing expertise from French theatre and marine ecology to healthcare leadership and strategic operations.

Primary label: News
New Executive Group reps: Jennifer Clarke, Clare Siviter-Groschwald, Aditee Mitra, and Hiba Khan.

Four Young Academy members are joining the UK Young Academy’s Executive Group, following the conclusion of this year’s elections.

The four join the seven-person Executive Group for two-year terms starting Thursday 1 October 2026, working alongside Sophie Meekings, Sandeep Sandhu, and Amy Vincent, who are already partway through their own terms.

Chosen by the UK Young Academy’s membership, the incoming representatives are (listed alphabetically):

  • Jennifer Clarke – Operations Leader for the Chief Scientist Directorate at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) Management Limited
  • Hiba Khan – Chief Revenue Officer at Medics.Academy
  • Aditee Mitra – Founding Director of ARK Dynamics and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Cardiff University

They join an Executive Group responsible for steering the UK Young Academy’s strategic direction and supporting our member-led groups to work towards our collective goals effectively. This change in leadership is the right moment to take stock of what the Young Academy has achieved so far, and to focus on the priorities that will make the most impact in the years ahead.

Speaking on their appointment, the incoming representatives said:

“We are delighted to have been elected to represent the UK Young Academy membership through the Executive Group. We thank the outgoing Executive Group members — Jahangir Alom, Denis Newman-Griffis, Linda Oyama, and Ed Pyzer-Knapp — for their work in establishing the foundations of the Young Academy. We are looking forward to working with Sophie Meekings, Sandeep Sandhu, and Amy Vincent to build upon these foundations.

Working with the membership, together we will champion implementation of the core UK Young Academy strategic aims across all our programmes: amplifying unheard, marginalised, and underrepresented voices; technology as an enabler for better life and a sustainable planet; climate change and environmental sustainability; and supporting early career professionals and empowering the younger generation.”

The UK Young Academy looks forward to seeing the contribution each of them will make to the Executive Group over the coming two years.
