Senior Lecturer in Postcolonial and Global Literature at Queen Mary University of London. Charlotta’s research focuses on visual storytelling methods, such as graphic narratives and street art, and social movements in the Global South. She is the Principal Investigator for an interdisciplinary Sustainable Development project, Visualizing Gender-based Violence in Graphic Awareness Campaigns in Nepal and is working on a book, Picturing Protest: the Global Graphic Narrative. In 2014 she won a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Birmingham. She has been involved in the initiative for starting a UK-wide Young Academy since 2018.
