Professor of Historical Geography at the University of Nottingham. Mike is a Fellow of the British Academy, where he chairs the Anthropology and Geography section and is a member of the International Engagement Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the Royal Historical Society of Arts and a Member of the Academia Europaea. He has published extensively on the histories of geographical and environmental thought since the eighteenth century in Europe and North America.
